Humphrey Earrings Twister Turquoise

The goal that Humphrey, in collaboration with Norbert Muerrle, set for this line of jewelry was to find a stainless steel material that is elastic. After more than a year of development work, we now have a 2 mm thick fabric that consists of many individual stainless steel threads in different alloys and thicknesses. The stainless steel threads are twisted and processed into one another. Only the right arrangement provides the desired properties.

With these earrings, the bracket can be easily opened to put on the earrings. The shackle then springs back to the closed position, securing the piece of jewelry against loss. The weight is reasonable and the earrings are comfortable to wear.

Reconstructed Turquoise:

In the case of reconstructed turquoise, turquoises that are not suitable for jewelery in their form are pulverized and solidified with high pressure and binding agents.

The "stone" is thus made by human hands. We like the properties that would be there: insensitive to impact, not brittle, color stable, durable.

The design of the balls may be reminiscent of the "retro style". What is certain is that these pieces are simply beautiful.
