ZEPPELIN Atlantic Automatic Regulateur
The regulator - or Regulateur as it is also called - is considered the epitome of a watch with precise running and excellent readability and was often used as a time standard until the late 1960s for
scientific purposes as well as for official time determination. For more precise readability of the time the hands for thedisplay of hours and minutes are arranged on different axes of the dial The minute hand dominates the appearance as the only large hand on the central axis, while the hour and second hands are positioned slightly off-center above and below it, respectively. In the 1980s, one or another manufacturer of wristwatches took up the idea of the regulator. From then on, a new species of quite striking and idiosyncratic timepieces for the wrist developed. Based on the specially for Zeppelin
developed automatic movement Sellita SW266.1, such a Regulateur watch now also exists in the ZEPPELIN Atlantic watch series and adopts the design with the beveled dials and the three-dimensional segments. The watch features a glass back and a sapphire crystal.
The ZEPPELIN Atlantic is a tribute to those already carried out in the 1930s Atlantic crossings with the famous airships designed by Count Zeppelin.
