The rescue pilots of the German Navy were looking for a chronograph that would enable flight speeds to be calculated and at the same time be able to cope with the toughest operating conditions. Together with them, Mühle Glashütte developed the SAR pilot's chronograph. With its Mühle-typical straightforwardness, precision and reliability, this impressive model now adds a new chapter to the history of the pilot's chronograph and impresses above all with the design of the black dial. This is designed to be rich in contrast and designed for best readability. The chronograph function has been marked in orange so that the time displays can be easily distinguished. This SAR-type signal color also carries the important 10-second scale, which is used for short-term measurements. Luminescent hour markers and hands also ensure that the time is easy to read, even at night. The watch's 45-millimeter case is made of robust stainless steel and is water-resistant to 10 bar (100 meters). The pilot's watch is protected by a 2.5 mm thick sapphire crystal and is equipped with a transparent caseback that allows a glimpse of the precise MU 9413 movement. The automatic movement shines with the following features: patented woodpecker neck regulation, Glashütte three-quarter plate, own rotor, characteristic surface finishes, second stop, quick date correction and 48-hour power reserve. A high-quality rubber strap, which is firmly closed with a stainless steel folding clasp (incl. extension), rounds off the pilot's chronograph from the SAR collection.
