Humphrey Navette Pearl Earrings

The navette earrings are a classic jewelry form and very elegant. The navette shape discreetly covers the pierced ear holes and fits beautifully on every ear. They are light, comfortable to wear, and attract attention.

The earrings are matte. All edges are softened and feel smooth. Humphrey uses nickel-free stainless steel.

The pearls are fixed on a pin. As a small detail, these pins are sandblasted at Humphrey to increase the strength of the connection.

Humphrey offers a 2-year warranty on the secure hold of the pearl with proper care. However, the lifespan is unlimited. Most jewelry pieces ever produced by Humphrey are still worn.

The country of origin of the Akoya pearl is Japan. Akoya pearls reach a size of 3 to 11 mm. The growth is very slow, about 0.15 – 0.3 mm per year. The pearls should have a layer of 0.6 mm and can therefore only be harvested after about 4 years.

The following criteria must be met for HUMPHREY:

Color: Akoya pearls are generally white. In the case of gray pearls, these are treated.

Luster: The luster of the Akoya pearl is very pronounced and depends on the thickness of the pearl layer.

Shape: The shape of Akoya pearls is generally round. For Humphrey jewelry pieces, it must be perfectly round and have a flawless surface.

Size: The pearl must adapt to the stainless steel jewelry in size and therefore be very precise in diameter.

Dangers for the pearls

Due to their chemical composition, pearls are sensitive to chemical and physical influences (e.g., they should be removed for showering and hair washing).

They consist mainly of calcium carbonate and the organic horn substance conchiolin. Pearls are sensitive to excessive heat, dryness, and moisture.

Care of the pearls

There are special cleaning baths for this that are mild. Pearls should preferably not be cleaned in ultrasound.

You can clean the pearls yourself from time to time in a simple way. Place the pearl in a bath of lukewarm water mixed with a splash of a gentle detergent and some alcohol, and brush gently. Then rinse the pearl with clear water and dry the pearl with a soft cloth. Every two to three years, you can carefully rub the pearl with lanolin.
