Humphrey Stud Earrings Navette Pearl
Nice version of Navette pearl ear studs made of stainless steel
with Akoya pearl gray 6.5 - 7 mm
The Navette earrings are a classic form of jewelry and very elegant. The navette shape discreetly covers the pierced ear holes and fits beautifully on every ear. It is light, comfortable to wear and attracts attention.
The earrings are matted. All edges are softened and feel soft. Humphrey uses a nickel-free stainless steel.
The beads are fixed on a pin. As a small detail, these pins are sandblasted at Humphrey to increase the strength of the connection.
Humphrey offers a 2-year guarantee on the secure hold of the pearl if handled properly. However, the lifespan is unlimited. Most of the jewelry Humphrey ever produced is still worn.
Humphrey's Akoya pearls - here in gray:
The country of origin of the Akoya pearl is Japan. Akoya pearls reach a size of 3 to 11 mm. Growth is very slow, approx. 0.15 – 0.3 mm per year. The pearls should have a layer of 0.6 mm and can therefore only be harvested after approx. 4 years.
The following criteria must be met for HUMPHREY:
Color: The Akoya pearls are generally white. In the case of gray pearls, these are treated.
Luster: The luster of the Akoya pearl is very pronounced and depends on the layer thickness of the pearl.
Shape: The shape of Akoya pearls is usually round. For Humphrey jewelry, it must be perfectly round and have a flawless surface.
Size: The bead must adapt in size to the stainless steel jewelry and therefore have a very precise diameter.
The HUMPHREY jewelry wearer has the certainty of owning a special piece of jewelry.
Dangers for the pearls
Due to their chemical composition, pearls are sensitive to chemical and physical influences (e.g. they should be removed for showering and washing hair).
They consist predominantly of calcium carbonate and the organic horny substance conchyn. Pearls are sensitive to excessive heat, dryness and moisture.
Pearl care
There are special cleansing baths for this that are mild. If possible, pearls should not be cleaned using ultrasound.
You can easily clean the pearls yourself from time to time. Place the pearl in a bath of lukewarm water mixed with a splash of gentle dishwashing liquid and a little alcohol and brush gently. Then rinse the pearl with clean water and dry the pearl with a soft cloth. Every two to three years you can carefully rub the pearl with lanolin.
