Ball 14 mm reconstructed turquoise
The objective that Humphrey set in collaboration with Norbert Muerrle for this jewelry line was to find a stainless steel material that is elastic. After more than a year of development work, we now have a fabric that is 2 mm thick, consisting of many individual stainless steel threads in various alloys and strengths. The stainless steel threads are twisted and processed together. Only the right arrangement provides the desired properties.
With this earring, the hoop can be easily opened to put on the dangling earring. The hoop then springs back to the closed position and secures the piece of jewelry against loss. The weight is manageable, and the earring is comfortable to wear.
Reconstructed Turquoise:
In reconstructed turquoise, turquoises that are not suitable for jewelry in their form are pulverized and solidified with high pressure and binding agents.
The "stone" is thus made by human hands. We like the properties that are: insensitive to impact, not brittle, color-stable, durable.
The design of the balls may remind one of the "retro style direction." One thing is for sure: these pieces are simply beautiful.
