The side and inner surfaces of the hoop earrings are polished. The outer surface is matt. The hoop earrings are eccentric (thicker at the top, thinner at the bottom) so that the stone does not pierce the inside and the hole in the ear is nicely covered. All edges are softened and feel soft. Humphrey uses a nickel-free stainless steel.

The spring (patent clasp) is integrated into the earrings and cannot be lost. The weight is low. This means that these earrings are also suitable for sensitive ears.

The diamonds are held by the force (tension) of the earring rail. They seem to float in the earrings. To ensure this is safe, two notches in the shape of the diamond are made in the rail using computer-controlled machines.

Humphrey has perfected this setting technique since the mid-1990s and offers a 2-year guarantee that the gemstone will be held securely if handled properly. However, the lifespan is unlimited. Most of the jewelry Humphrey ever produced is still worn.

Diamonds:

The 4 C's are important when it comes to diamonds. Diamonds are assessed at 10x magnification:

- Carat (weight): The diamonds in this piece of jewelry weigh 0.12 ct. (2.5 mm diameter each)

- Color: The diamonds used by Humphrey are F or Top Wesselton color

- Clearity: Humphrey generally uses VS stones. VS stands for very small inclusions or very small inclusions that can hardly be seen with the naked eye

- Cut: This is the most important C for us. This is where it is decided whether the diamond sparkles in normal light or is poor. Manufacturers often save money here. Humphrey only uses brilliant cut diamonds.
