On the 180th birthday of Johannes Dürrstein, Union Glashütte celebrates its founding story with an exclusive set of two special timepieces: the Large Second and the Small Second of the 1893 anniversary edition. Both models combine technical sophistication with classic Glashütte aesthetics – and are a tribute to the brand's philosophy of making high-quality watchmaking accessible.
Two watches, one shared signature
The Large Second impresses with its extraordinary dial architecture featuring an off-center display, with seconds positioned on the left and hours/minutes on the right – inspired by the historic anniversary model for the 175th anniversary. The Small Second presents itself more classically, with the distinctive second at 6 o'clock and more feminine proportions.
Both models appear in a harmonious interplay of taupe-colored exterior with fine grain, sandblasted dial center, silver-colored dial ring, and elegantly blued hands. Together, they form a collector's set of exceptional balance and expressiveness.
