Oris's calibre development celebrates its tenth anniversary with the outstanding hand-wound Calibre 473. This masterpiece continues the tradition of Oris calibres that are purely mechanical and Swiss Made, offer unique functions, and are available at affordable prices.
From Calibre 110 to Calibre 473
The watchmaking journey began in 2014 with the Calibre 110 and continued with nine more unique high-performance calibres. The Calibre 400 series, introduced in 2020, marked a turning point with the first self-developed automatic movements in over 40 years. With five days of power reserve, enhanced magnetic protection, and a 10-year warranty, it set a new standard for Swiss Made automatic movements.
The Return of the Evergreen
The Big Crown Calibre 473 revives the iconic design of the Big Crown Pointer Date, an Oris evergreen since 1938. This time it houses the newly developed hand-wound Calibre 473, which is based on the automatic Calibre 403.
Innovative and Unique
The Calibre 473 gives the watch an exceptional power reserve of five days, which can be tracked via an innovative 120-hour power reserve indicator on the back of the movement. This feature reminds the wearer when it is time to wind the watch again. In line with the Oris philosophy, Calibre 473 is highly robust, precise, and maintenance-free.
Patented Design and Future-Proofing
With a clear focus on easy assembly and durability, Oris has patented the power reserve indicator. All watches with the Calibre 473 come with a 10-year warranty and recommended service intervals of 10 years. This groundbreaking development concludes a four-year development cycle and once again highlights Oris's innovative strength in watchmaking.
