The importance of coral reefs
Severe coral bleaching events have put the world's coral reefs in great danger. Coral reefs cover less than 1% of the ocean floor but support nearly a quarter of all marine species. They contribute to the health of the oceans and are responsible for producing 70% of the world's oxygen. Additionally, they contribute trillions of dollars annually to the global economy. Their survival is crucial for the planet.
Oris' commitment to reef restoration
Oris collaborates with the pioneering non-profit organization Reef Restoration Foundation to preserve and protect these vital natural structures. Founded in 2016, the Reef Restoration Foundation specializes in ocean-based coral nurseries to conserve these biodiverse ecosystems. To support this mission, Oris presents the Great Barrier Reef Limited Edition IV, a version of the new Aquis Date Calibre 400 limited to 2,000 pieces. This watch embodies Oris's commitment to climate neutrality and the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

- Gradient Blue Dial: The vibrant, gradient blue dial represents the turquoise and blue waters of the Great Barrier Reef as well as the sun's rays breaking through the water. This unique dial gradient runs vertically from 12 o'clock.
- Case and Bezel: The watch features a stainless steel case with a gray tungsten bezel, providing durability and aesthetics. The case back is engraved with special markings, such as the limited edition number.
- Caliber 400 Movement: Inside the watch is the revolutionary Caliber 400, an in-house automatic movement with a five-day power reserve, offering increased everyday resistance to magnetism, 10 years recommended service intervals, and a 10-year warranty (with MyOris registration).
- Water resistance: The Aquis Date 43.50 mm base model offers 30 bar (300 meters) water resistance and is thus a reliable diving watch.
