The NY earrings are inspired by the New York skyline. Here, more is more but not too much! A total of 6 brilliants are involved.
They are comfortable to wear in size and not to be overlooked due to the brilliants. They emphasize the personality of the wearer. The surfaces are matte. All edges are softened and feel smooth. Humphrey uses a nickel-free stainless steel. The weight is low, making them suitable for sensitive ears and perfectly balanced by the earring stud patent. The studs always point nicely forward and do not tilt.
The earring stud patent – called O-Pop by us – was developed and is protected by Humphrey. It contains a spring inside, whose secure fit does not change even after years. The size is optimal so that the part can be held well but is not too large to be uncomfortable or conspicuous. A spherical indentation ensures that the earring post automatically finds the hole.
In this model, the brilliants are set in a so-called "channel." Each individual brilliant can move slightly and is not exactly aligned with the other brilliants. The result is a significantly enhanced reflection because light is always caught from somewhere. The "channel" for the stones in the form of the brilliant is created using computer-controlled machines.
The brilliants are held by the force (tension) of the earring bar. They appear to float in the ear jewelry.
Humphrey has perfected this setting technique since the mid-90s and offers a 2-year warranty on the secure hold of the gemstone with proper care. However, the lifespan is unlimited. Most jewelry pieces ever produced by Humphrey are still worn today.
Brilliants:
The 4 C’s are important for brilliants. Diamonds are evaluated at 10x magnification:
- Carat (Gewicht): In this piece of jewelry, the brilliants weigh 0.36 ct. (each 2.5 mm diameter)
- Color (Farbe): The diamonds used by Humphrey have the color F or Top Wesselton.
- Clarity (Reinheit): Humphrey generally uses VS stones. VS stands for very small inclusions, which are hardly visible to the naked eye.
- Cut (Schliff): For us, the most important C. This determines whether the diamond sparkles in normal light or looks dull. Often manufacturers cut corners here. Humphrey uses only brilliant cuts that are excellently polished.
