The perfect blend of blue and stainless steel gives the Commander Big Date a style that is also transferred to its owner. Always with recognition value, but never boring: The new Commander Big Date skillfully plays with colors and textures. And shows plenty of class! The deep blue dial with satin sunburst finish beautifully combines with the shine of the polished indices, the flat diamond-cut hands, and the date window – as well as with the round case with a diameter of 42 mm made of satin-finished stainless steel, polished bezel, and satin-finished case sides and lugs.

 Mido has added that certain extra to this look that gives the watch its very special character: A beige Super-LumiNova® in vintage style adorns the main components of the dial. In the dark, this phosphorescent material glows green, allowing the time to be read perfectly. Its hallmark, typical of an icon: The large date window at 6 o'clock. The highlight with protective function is the faceted and curved sapphire glass, which offers excellent readability.

Another great detail: The navy blue textile strap – very original with its fine knit – is trimmed and decorated with beige seams. It perfects the style of the new Commander Big Date, which is as modern as it is sophisticated.

The transparent case back provides a view of the gears in the mechanical heart of the Commander Big Date. The Caliber 80 with large date display features a rotor adorned with Geneva stripes. This famous automatic movement combines excellent autonomy – a power reserve of up to 80 hours – with a Nivachron™ balance spring. The use of this shock-resistant and durable material helps reduce the impact of magnetic fields, thus ensuring precision. The Commander Big Date is guaranteed to be water-resistant up to a pressure of 5 bar (50 m/165 ft).
