Oris Big Crown Lou Gehrig Limited Edition – Tribute to a baseball icon

Limited special edition with historical significance

The Oris Big Crown Lou Gehrig Limited Edition is a wristwatch limited to 2,130 pieces dedicated to the American baseball player Lou Gehrig. It is based on the classic Big Crown Pointer Date and combines traditional Swiss watchmaking with an impressive sports history reference. The number of pieces recalls the number of his consecutive games for the New York Yankees.

Design, details, and mechanical movement

The 40 mm stainless steel case houses a gray, vertically brushed dial that symbolically picks up the nickname “Iron Horse.” Particularly striking is the blue-highlighted “4” on the date ring – a tribute to Gehrig’s legendary jersey number, which is no longer issued in baseball. The screwed case back is decorated with an engraved portrait of the player.

Inside works the automatic Oris caliber 754-1. It offers hour, minute, and central seconds display as well as the characteristic pointer date function. The movement has a power reserve of about 41 hours and operates at 28,800 vibrations per hour. A double-domed, anti-reflective sapphire crystal on the inside reliably protects the dial.

Wearing comfort and technical features

The watch is equipped with a high-quality leather strap and designed for everyday use. With water resistance up to 5 bar (50 meters), it offers solid everyday practicality. The combination of a sporty history, limited edition, and classic design makes this model a special collector’s piece.

Für Schmuck beträgt die Gewährleistungsfrist ebenfalls 24 Monate und gilt beispielsweise für Kollektionen von Collection Ruesch, Steiner Basic, Palido und Humphrey. Die Garantie deckt Material- und Herstellungsfehler ab. Normale Abnutzung, unsachgemäße Behandlung oder Schäden durch äußere Einflüsse sind davon ausgeschlossen.
