The history of Seiko: A century of innovation

Since Seiko's beginnings in 1881, the company has repeatedly introduced innovations, in line with the founder's philosophy: "Always one step ahead of the rest." In 1924, the company presented the first wristwatch with the Seiko logo on the dial, marking the start of the Seiko brand. The year 2024 thus marks the 100th anniversary of this groundbreaking event. To celebrate this anniversary, a third creation with an anthracite-colored dial will be introduced in a special edition.

The special edition is adorned with gold-colored accents that celebrate the anniversary year and at the same time recall the many advances in watchmaking that have been made under the name Seiko.

New Prospex Creations: Modern Reinterpretations from 1965

Seiko presents three new Prospex creations, which are modern reinterpretations of the original Seiko dive watch from 1965. These watches offer water resistance up to 300 meters and an impressive power reserve of three days.

More power, higher water resistance, and better readability

Each of the new watches is powered by Seiko's latest automatic movement, the Caliber 6R55, which offers a power reserve of 72 hours. These watches now ensure water resistance up to 300 meters - a first for Prospex dive watches outside of saturation diving. The date window has been moved between four and five o'clock to allow for a more symmetrical design and to optimize readability in the dark. The LumiBrite-coated index at 3 o'clock also contributes to improved readability.

Compact design and high wearing comfort

The new models offer reliability, safety, and easy handling, which are required from a Seiko dive watch. With a case diameter of 40.0 mm, a length of 46.4 mm from lug to lug, and a thickness of 13.0 mm, these watches provide compact dimensions and excellent wearing comfort for everyday use. A new bracelet with shorter links and a smaller clasp allows precise adjustment of the watch to the wearer’s wrist and offers additional comfort. The short lugs also ensure a high level of comfort on the wrist.
