Product Description
Sphere 14 mm reconstructed turquoise
The objective that Humphrey set in collaboration with Norbert Muerrle for this jewelry line was to find a stainless steel material that is elastic. After more than a year of development work, we now have a 2 mm thick fabric made of many individual stainless steel threads in various alloys and thicknesses. The stainless steel threads are twisted together and processed. Only the correct arrangement provides the desired properties.
With this earring, the hoop can simply be opened to put on the dangle. The hoop then springs back to the closed position and secures the jewelry against loss. The weight is moderate and the earring is comfortable to wear.
Reconstructed turquoise:
In reconstructed turquoise, turquoises that are not suitable for jewelry in their form are pulverized and solidified under high pressure with a binder.
The "stone" is thus man-made. We like the properties it has: resistant to impact, not brittle, color-stable, durable.
The design of the spheres may somewhat remind one of the "retro style" direction. What is certain is that these pieces are simply beautiful.
