Information about the piece of jewelry:
This ring's design (designer Norbert Muerrle) is heavily influenced by architecture. Due to the different angles and the thickness of the ring band, the ring is extremely comfortable to wear (although it doesn't look like it). The design prevents it from rotating on the finger.
The surfaces are matte. All edges are softened and feel smooth. Humphrey uses nickel-free stainless steel.
The diamond is held in place by the force (tension) of the stainless steel ring band. It appears to float in the ring band. To ensure this, two notches in the shape of the diamond are made in the ring band using computer-controlled machines.
Humphrey has perfected this setting technique since the mid-1990s and, if treated properly, offers a 2-year guarantee that the gemstone will stay securely in place. However, the lifespan is unlimited. Most of the jewelry ever produced by Humphrey is still worn.
If the ring no longer fits properly due to poor or good nutrition, Humphrey offers the option of changing the size.

The 4 C's are important for diamonds. Diamonds are assessed at 10x magnification:
- Carat (weight): In this piece of jewelry the diamond weighs 0.25 ct.
- Color: This ring uses a black diamond (treated).
- Clearity: Humphrey generally uses VS stones. VS stands for very small inclusions, which are barely visible to the naked eye (in this case not visible in black).
- Cut: For us, this is the most important C. This determines whether the diamond sparkles in normal light or is poor. Manufacturers often cut corners here. Humphrey only uses diamonds that are excellently cut.
Humphrey is careful to only buy diamonds from suppliers who comply with the United Nations Resolutions. Therefore, we can guarantee that these diamonds are not affected by any conflicts.
