The perfect blend of blue and stainless steel gives the Commander Big Date style that also transfers to its owner. The shine of the stainless steel and the deep blue dial with satin sunburst finish – one of the characteristic features of Mido's iconic Commander collection – create an extremely successful interplay. The beige Super-LumiNova® that adorns the hands and indexes gives the watch a subtle vintage touch. The color is echoed in the stitching of the blue textile strap. This super-reliable caliber features a particularly resistant and precise high-tech balance spring made of Nivachron™ and a power reserve of up to 80 hours – thus combining style and precision.

Always with a distinctive look, but never boring: The new Commander Big Date skillfully plays with colors and textures. And it shows plenty of class! The deep blue dial with a satin sunburst finish beautifully combines with the shine of the polished indexes, the flat diamond-cut hands, and the date window – as well as with the round case with a diameter of 42 mm made of satin-finished stainless steel, polished bezel, and satin-finished case flanks and lugs.

 Mido has added that certain something to this look, giving the watch its very special character: A beige Super-LumiNova® in vintage style adorns the main components of the display. In the dark, this phosphorescent material glows green, allowing the time to be read perfectly. Its unique feature, typical of an icon: The large date window at 6 o'clock. The highlight with protective function is the faceted and domed sapphire crystal, which offers excellent readability.

Another great detail: The navy blue textile strap – very original with its fine knit – is remborded and decorated with beige stitching. It perfects the style of the new Commander Big Date, which is as modern as it is sophisticated.

The transparent case back reveals the gears in the mechanical heart of the Commander Big Date. The Caliber 80 with large date display features a rotor decorated with Geneva stripes. This famous automatic movement combines excellent autonomy – a power reserve of up to 80 hours – with a Nivachron™ balance spring. The use of this shock-resistant and durable material reduces the impact of magnetic fields and thus guarantees precision. The Commander Big Date is guaranteed water-resistant up to a pressure of 5 bar (50 m/165 ft).
