Product Description
Topaz blue 4 mm round, stainless steel loop
The Musicus
was designed by Norbert Muerrle. This piece of jewelry is extravagant and breaks the mold of the ordinary. The design is inspired by a musical instrument – the French horn. This might be related to the fact that a large music festival took place in Humphrey's homeland in the year of creation. Suspiciously many Humphrey employees were seen at this festival for several days.
The colored gemstone sits diagonally in the pendant and seems to literally float. All lines are curved and form a perfect harmony.
The pendant is matte and all corners and edges are softened.
Humphrey offers a 2 years warranty on the secure setting of the gemstone with proper care. However, the lifespan is unlimited. Most jewelry pieces ever produced by Humphrey are still worn today.
Topaz:
Topaz gets its name from an island in the Red Sea, which was called Topazos in ancient times. However, a different mineral, olivine, was actually mined there, which was long confused with topaz. Another explanation of the name traces back to the Sanskrit word Tapas, meaning "fire" or "glow."
Topaz has been known for at least 2000 years and is among the gemstones that form the foundations of the twelve gates to the City of God of the New Jerusalem. These stones were meant to symbolize beauty and brilliance and to serve as protection against enemies.
The colors of topaz range from yellow, light blue, light green, yellow-brown, reddish-brown, red, violet, and colorless. Humphrey uses exclusively blue and white topazes. Many topazes are color-treated. This also applies to our blue topazes, as otherwise they would command enormous prices.
With a rating of 8 on the 10-point Mohs scale, topaz is one of the hardest gemstones – only diamond, sapphire, and ruby are harder.
