The honorary citizen of Zeyten made a name for himself far beyond the borders of Freudenstadt / Schwarzwald. His great dream was to create a mechanical clock that was perfect. To get closer to this goal, he traveled as a watchmaker through Switzerland and England, gathering many valuable impressions and techniques along the way. In the various watchmaker workshops, he was able to expand his expertise. Early on, CvZ recognized that there were certain materials for the spring and the balance wheel that were particularly well-suited for enabling precise timekeeping. Later, he used his accumulated experiences to assemble some handmade wristwatches for selected customers.
